Reported Speech | Speaking

 

The most important skill in learning this language is speaking. If you only strengthen your grammar, reading, writing and vocabulary, you will not build your confidence when it comes to speaking.

This is what you have to do to practice your speaking:

1. Practice the pronunciation of these sentences.

• Direct speech: "I am going to the party," she said.     
• Reported speech: She said that she was going tothe party.

• Direct speech: "I love this song," he exclaimed.
• Reported speech: He exclaimed that he loved that song. 

• Direct speech: "Did you finish your homework?" the teacher asked.
• Reported speech: The teacher asked if they had finished their homework.

• Direct speech: "I will call you later," he promised.
• Reported speech: He promised that he would call later.
